Yellowknife, NT - Heartbreak Hotel
Today marks another landmark event, as PLYWOODMAN and
his apprentice headed up the hill in the borrowed
super sonic PLYMOBILE this morning with their new
"HEARTBREAK HOTEL". They arrived at the court house
at 7 a.m., and erected their hotel. PLYWOODMAN was
first accosted by an angry city employee who
threatened to "ram right through it" if he did not
move his display. PLYWOODMAN began to do his best,
but was not fast enough for the speeding "Cat"
scraping the sidewalk. This crazy guy actually headed
straight for it, so PLYWOODMAN stood in his way. This
caused this man some grief so he called it in. With
the strength of a thousand sheets of plywood, P.M.
managed to clear the road. He was quick to finish his
work and the hotel took it's place in the center of
the sidewalk.
The staff were greeted by P.M., with:
"Welcome to the heartbreak hotel, where families are
destroyed and the suicide rate is climbing".
Responses ranged from "F**k You, you idiot" to "your
absolutely right!"
By 8:30 am, most of the staff had arrived so the super
sonic PLYMOBILE was programed for the Legislative
Assembly. We all arrived at 8:40, and the hotel
stayed all day. PLYWOODMAN returned at 2:45 pm. with
his demolition order.
A member of the security staff helped us tear down,
and asked "how much did this cost?" P.M. was quick to
respond "it cost me my life, and my children!"
A correspondence expert representing an MLA came out
to shake PLYWOODMAN's hand, stating "Good job"
PLYWOODMAN responded with "see you next month, I'm
building a sugar shack for Caribou Carnival"
Messages sent today are
"Entrance HEART BREAK HOTEL"
"STOP SOLE CUSTODY"
(a colour coded message)
"FATHERS AND SONS HAVE NO RIGHTS"
(and for the Burnaby Bat)
"WHO'S MY DADDY"
Special thanks to P.M.'s apprentice, for finding a
PLYMOBILE and helping with the hotel. Further thanks
to the "New guy in town" for supplying the pix on a
very cold morning. Honourable mention to secret agent
"Greenpeace" for helping frame the hotel.
It rocked.
